Policies and terms
The documents below cover Recte as a company. Each app also has its own page, with the exact data that app accesses and why.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21st, 2026
This policy explains what Darren Dylan Dodson ("Recte", "we") collects when you install and use the Recte apps, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Recte builds apps for Shopify merchants. The data controller for the purposes of this policy is Darren Dylan Dodson, 2203 Hendricks Hill Lane, Holly Springs, NC 27540. For any privacy question or request, contact dylan@dodson-development.com.
What we access
Each app requests only the access it needs to do its job. The exact list for each app is published on that app's own policy page.
We also record basic operational information — the store domain, the plan you are on, and error and access logs — so we can bill correctly and diagnose faults.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, or your customers' data, to anyone.
- We do not use your data to train machine learning models.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not access your store data except to operate the app, to investigate a fault you have reported, or where we are legally required to.
Where your data is held
Data is processed and stored in the United States. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards for that transfer.
Who else processes it
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. The current list is published on the Subprocessors tab of this page.
How long we keep it
We keep store data for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall, we delete or anonymise store data within 90 days, except where we must retain records for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Generated files are deleted on a shorter schedule described in the app itself.
Shopify also sends us mandatory data requests. When Shopify asks us to redact a customer or a shop, we action it within the period Shopify requires and confirm back to Shopify.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, contact dylan@dodson-development.com. We will respond within the period required by the law that applies to you.
If you are a shopper rather than a merchant, we hold your data on behalf of the store you bought from. Please contact that store first; if you contact us directly, we will pass your request to them and support them in answering it.
Security
Access to production systems is limited to people who need it. Data is encrypted in transit. Credentials are held in a managed secret store, not in source code. We review access when a contractor's work finishes.
Children
The app is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we handle your data, tell you in the app or by email.

Terms of Service
Last updated: August 21st, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Recte apps, supplied by Darren Dylan Dodson. Installing the app means you accept them.
The service
We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app in the Shopify store it is installed in, for as long as your subscription is current.
What you are responsible for
- The accuracy of the data in your store, and of anything you configure in the app.
- Checking generated documents, labels, counts and financial figures before you rely on them commercially.
- Keeping your Shopify account secure, and managing who on your staff has access.
- Using the app lawfully, and not attempting to break, overload or reverse engineer it.
Fees and billing
Subscription fees are charged through Shopify Billing and appear on your Shopify invoice. Charges recur monthly until you uninstall or downgrade. Where a free trial is offered, it runs for the stated period and converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled first. Because billing is handled by Shopify, refunds follow Shopify's process; contact us at dylan@dodson-development.com and we will help.
Plan limits
Each plan has published limits. When you reach a limit we will prompt you to upgrade. We will not delete your data or lock you out of work already in progress because of a plan limit.
Availability
We aim to keep the app available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not responsible for outages caused by Shopify, your network, or other services outside our control.
Your data
Your store data stays yours. We process it only to provide the app, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export your data from the app, and you can uninstall at any time.
Intellectual property
The app, its interface and its underlying code remain ours. Nothing here transfers ownership of them to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted data. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the app in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You may uninstall at any time; billing stops in line with Shopify's billing cycle. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if required to by Shopify or by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States.

Support Policy
Last updated: August 21st, 2026
How to reach us
Email dylan@dodson-development.com. That address is monitored on business days and reaches the people who work on the Recte apps directly.
Response times
We aim to give a first response within 1 business day on business days. Something that stops you trading — documents not generating, counts not committing, labels not printing — goes to the front of the queue.
What helps us fix it faster
- Your store domain.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- An order number, SKU or reference we can look at.
- A screenshot, or the generated file if there is one.
Access to your store
We will not access your store to investigate a problem without your say-so. If we need collaborator access we will ask, explain why, and tell you when we are done.
Bugs and requests
Report a bug and we will confirm whether we can reproduce it and give you a realistic timeframe. Feature requests are read and logged; we will be straight with you about whether something is likely to be built.
Ending your subscription
Uninstall from your Shopify admin and billing stops in line with Shopify's cycle. If you want your data exported before you go, ask us and we will help.
Subprocessors
Last updated: August 21st, 2026
These are the third parties that may process data on our behalf in order to run the Recte apps. They act on our instructions and may not use the data for their own purposes.
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Fly.io | Application hosting and database | United States |
| Postmark (ActiveCampaign) | Transactional email delivery | United States |
| Shopify | Platform APIs and billing | United States / Canada |
Shopify itself is not a subprocessor in the usual sense — it is the platform your store runs on, and it is the source of the data the app reads. It is listed for completeness.
We will update this page before adding a new subprocessor that handles merchant data. If you want to be told when this list changes, email dylan@dodson-development.com.
Policies for a specific app
Each app has its own privacy policy, terms, support policy and subprocessor list at its own address.
